During studies carried out in the Göbeklitepe archaeological site near Şanlıurfa, a wild boar statue made of limestone was found in Structure D. The most remarkable feature of the statue is the remains of red, white and black pigments still visible on its surface.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it was emphasized that this statue is one of the rare works that has reached the present day with its original paint from its own period. The importance of Göbeklitepe on the UNESCO World Heritage List has been registered once again with this discovery.
